A Guide to the Best Cardio Machines At the Gym

Treadmill Benefits | Best Cardio Machine in Gym

Cardio exercise or aerobic exercise is one of the most recommended activities for people who are concerned about losing weight. Cardio exercises involve different kinds of activities – running, jumping, cycling, swimming, and so on – that can increase the rate of your heartbeat.

Cardio exercises also help to perform other functions like keeping you physically fit and ensuring a healthy life. If you want to start cardio exercises, there are a few gym equipment that you need to acquaint yourself with. Below are some of these pieces of equipment include:

1.  Treadmill:

The treadmill is one of the most common pieces of equipment that you will find in a gym. It is easy to use, irrespective of your age or gender. To use the treadmill, you will have to stand on the belt and you can adjust the belt speed by using the control buttons on the mill. Cardio exercise couldn’t be easier.

To use a treadmill, you need to understand the functions of each button on the tread. After this, position your legs on both edges of the belt and press the start button. The mill will begin to move slowly, then you can place your legs on it.

Continue to increase the speed of the machine until you attain optimum speed. As a rule of thumb, never set the treadmill to a speed that makes it hard for you to have a conversation. To stop the treadmill, slowly decrease the speed till you can come to a halt.

2.  Indoor Cycle:

Everyone knows that cycling is an outdoor exercise. However, this equipment allows you to cycle inside, and more fascinatingly, on a spot. You can have this gym equipment in your home gym and catch up with your favorite show while cycling.

Using the indoor cycle requires a few steps. First, you have to adjust the cycle to fit your legs, hips, and hands. Next, strap your feet to the pedal and lastly, take on a proper posture – raise your chest, drop your shoulders, and straighten your back.

3.  StairMill

This is similar to the treadmill. The difference between the both of them is right there in the name. Instead of a tread, the stairmill uses a flight of stairs to keep for your cardio exercise. You can use the same procedure for operating the treadmill to operate the stairmill and make sure that you do not climb at a high speed. Once you are clutching the sidebars to gain balance that is a sign that you are going too fast.

4.  VersaClimber:

The versaclimber is great for a total body workout. While using this equipment, you will act like you are climbing a ladder and pedaling simultaneously. This equipment was popular in the late 20th century but some fitness enthusiasts have said that it is more efficient and that explains why you will find it in your local gym center.

5.  Ergometer:

This is another piece of cardio equipment and it is quite different from the others. The working mechanism of the ergometer makes it appear like you are rowing a boat. This equipment works well for your upper body.

When next you visit a gym, try to make use of at least one of these pieces of cardio equipment. Other than weight loss, cardio exercises also help to perform other functions like enhancing lung function, improving sexual performance, reducing stress, ensuring quality sleep, and many more. Talk to your gym instructor and get started with a cardio exercise.
