Fantasy Baseball Rankings 2022: Top sleepers from computer model that predicted Franmil Reyes’ big year

[ad_1]

MLB news is breaking by the moment with the Braves pulling off a blockbuster deal to bring in Athletics first baseman Matt Olson on Monday, and then giving him a new eight-year contract that should make him the team’s everyday first baseman for almost a decade. That likely means the Freddie Freeman era in Atlanta is over, and Fantasy baseball players will need to adjust expectations for both players as they hit in new parks in 2022. With MLB Opening Day set for April 7, the time is now to get your Fantasy baseball draft prep done.

Where should Olson and Freeman land as 2022 Fantasy baseball picks? And who are the 2022 Fantasy baseball sleepers who will outperform their ADP this season? Before going on the clock, be sure to see the 2022 Fantasy baseball rankings and cheat sheets from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Last season, SportsLine’s Projection Model identified several top Fantasy baseball sleepers, breakouts and busts, including Guardians designated hitter Franmil Reyes.

Reyes had a 2021 Fantasy baseball ADP outside the top 200 but the model predicted that he’d outperform that draft position. The result: Reyes hit 30 home runs and drove in 85 in 115 games for Cleveland and slashed .254/.324/.522 for an OPS+ of 127. Anybody who followed its advice and picked up Reyes late in their Fantasy baseball drafts received a huge power boost in their Fantasy baseball lineups.

The SportsLine model is engineered by the same people who powered projections for all three major Fantasy sites. And that same group is sharing its 2022 Fantasy baseball rankings and cheat sheets over at SportsLine, helping you find Fantasy baseball sleepers, breakouts and busts long before your competition. Their cheat sheets, available for leagues on many major sites, are updated multiple times every day.

Any time more MLB news comes out about the updated 2022 MLB schedule, free agency signings or Fantasy baseball injuries, the team at SportsLine updates its projections. Go to SportsLine now to see these proven Fantasy baseball cheat sheets.

Top 2022 Fantasy baseball sleepers

One of the 2022 Fantasy baseball sleepers the model is all over: Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson. Acquired at the 2021 trade deadline, Gibson was supposed to boost Philadelphia’s rotation down the stretch. It didn’t turn out quite how the Phillies hoped as he posted a 4-6 record with a 5.09 ERA.

Fantasy players are skeptical heading into 2022 and Gibson’s Fantasy baseball ADP is No. 163 overall. But SportsLine’s model is projecting him to pitch more like he did for the Rangers earlier in 2021, when he posted a 6-3 record with a 2.87 ERA. He’s projected to outperform top-100 picks like Jack Flaherty, Alek Manoah and Carlos Rodon, making Gibson one of the Fantasy baseball sleepers you should be all over.

Another sleeper that SportsLine’s Fantasy baseball rankings 2022 are extremely high on: Marlins shortstop Miguel Rojas. The 33-year-old has been a regular in the Miami lineup going back to 2015, but he was one of the heroes of the team’s postseason run in 2020, and finished with the highest batting average on the team last year after the club traded Starling Marte to Oakland. Rojas also set career highs in runs (66), stolen bases (13) and walks (37).

As the Marlins prepare for another season trying to do more with less, Rojas is securely positioned as one of the team’s fixtures in the batting order. Last season finished as his second-best at the plate out of the three seasons he’s made at least 500 plate appearances, but all three came between the 2018 and 2021 seasons, with his magical 2020 campaign in between. The SportsLine model predicts that he will continue improving his form this season, and out-produce other starters with a higher current 2022 Fantasy baseball ADP like Javier Baez, Willy Adames, and Bobby Witt.

How to find proven 2022 Fantasy baseball rankings

SportsLine is also high on a surprising starting pitcher who lands in the top five of its positional rankings. This player is barely going off the board in the top 100 picks, but is projected to outperform starters such as Julio Urias, Max Scherzer and Lucas Giolito. This pick could be the difference in winning your league or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.

So which 2022 Fantasy sleepers should you target in your upcoming drafts? Visit SportsLine now to get 2022 Fantasy baseball rankings for every single position, all from the model that called Franmil Reyes’ big season, and find out.
